Responsibilities
- Operate and support the IBM MQ messaging platform across multiple environments.
- Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot IBM MQ components and production services.
- Investigate incidents and service disruptions and participate in on-call or support rotations.
- Participate in change, release, patching, security, compliance, and audit activities.
- Support application-team onboarding, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to operational standards, runbooks, documentation, knowledge sharing, and platform improvements.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with IBM MQ or strong knowledge of enterprise messaging concepts.
- Experience supporting production systems in Linux or Unix-based environments.
- Understanding of point-to-point and publish/subscribe messaging patterns, high availability, resilience, and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Bash, Python, or similar scripting for operational tasks.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, follow processes, and escalate effectively.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Exposure to Kafka, ActiveMQ, or AMQ.
- Basic knowledge of containers or Kubernetes.
- Experience in a regulated or financial-services environment.
- Understanding of ITIL or structured incident and change-management processes.
