Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the frontend architecture of the Materialize Console.
- Define clean abstractions, design systems, and patterns for scalability.
- Build high-performance user interfaces that clearly present complex data.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to shape APIs and data models.
- Become an expert on indexing and materialization to optimize SQL queries.
- Drive improvements in frontend performance, testing, and developer experience.
- Serve as a technical leader, mentoring engineers and setting long-term direction.
- Work with product and design teams to create user-centered solutions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Significant experience with complex frontend systems, particularly React and Typescript.
- Strong frontend architecture instincts in component design and state management.
- Solid understanding of backend systems and APIs.
- Confident in working with SQL and data-intensive applications.
- Ability to reason about architectural tradeoffs across different layers.
- Motivated to make technical systems understandable for end users.
- Clear communicator capable of explaining complex designs.
