Principal Software Engineer

- Lead the design of new features for a highly distributed, large-scale global platform.
- Serve as technical lead for projects spanning multiple teams and business units.
- Develop hands-on proofs of concept and evaluate new technologies.
- Implement strategic technical decisions in cross-functional teams.
- Design, build, improve, and operate scalable, resilient, high-performance applications and services.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and career development support to engineers, including senior engineers.
- Communicate and enforce technical standards and advise product and engineering leadership on strategic objectives.
- Support hiring for senior engineering roles and strengthen the engineering community.
Requirements
- 16+ years of software development experience, including at least 8 years in a principal, lead, or architect role.
- Deep experience developing and operating business-critical systems and large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Expert computer science knowledge with strong competencies in service-oriented architecture, migration, and cloud technologies.
- Ability to solve complex business problems with simple, effective code and work across multiple programming languages and frameworks.
- Strong communication, customer focus, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to influence colleagues without direct reporting authority.
- Experience mentoring and growing senior developers is preferred.
