Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver reliable, cost-effective, high-quality firmware and software subsystems within project schedules and budgets.
  • Design, develop, test, and integrate firmware for switches and network controllers across multiple hardware and software platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, management, architects, and outsourced development partners on system design, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with hardware, firmware, systems management, field support, documentation, and sales organizations to develop networking solutions.
  • Review designs and project activities for compliance with development standards and provide feedback to improve quality and reduce failure risk.
  • Troubleshoot operating systems, network stacks, switches, sniffers, and external networks.
  • Support customer interactions, product support, standards implementation, and integration of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience.
  • Expertise in enterprise networking products, including Layer 2, Layer 3, and security protocols and features.
  • Experience designing and developing firmware for switches or network controllers.
  • Strong experience with Linux, Green Hills, or VxWorks operating systems.
  • Knowledge of ASIC architectures such as Broadcom.
  • Expert knowledge of C and extensive experience with firmware architecture and hardware interaction.
  • Experience designing and integrating network solutions across multiple platforms, including platform-dependent and platform-independent protocol work.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking concepts and protocols including xSTP, VLAN, LACP, LLDP, TRILL, OSPF, BGP, tunnels, PIM, IGMP, IPv6, RADIUS, TACACS, SSH, ACL, and QoS.
  • Ability to interpret IEEE and IETF standards and convert them into designs and code.
  • Experience with network development tools, traffic generators, IXIA, and Spirent.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal communication, and network troubleshooting skills.
  • Preferred experience writing secure software, evaluating new technologies, and working with agile development practices.
