Responsibilities
- Design and evolve systems for high availability, predictable performance, uptime, resilience, and operational stability
- Strengthen distributed services for scale by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing critical paths, and handling increasing traffic and complexity
- Advance SRE and DevOps practices through SLOs, SLIs, incident response improvements, reduced operational toil, and measurable production behavior
- Evolve cloud and infrastructure systems, infrastructure-as-code, environment management, and operational safety mechanisms
- Improve CI/CD, rollout, and rollback mechanisms so deployments are safe, observable, reversible, and fast
- Advance logging, metrics, and tracing standards to improve production debugging and resolution
- Collaborate with engineering, risk, and legal stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into reliable technical abstractions
- Own infrastructure and backend features end to end while moving across the stack when needed
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of engineering experience building and scaling customer-facing SaaS or fintech products in a high-growth environment
- Strong backend engineering expertise, including designing durable APIs and resilient systems
- Highly proficient in SQL and data modeling across large datasets
- Experience building or operating distributed systems with strong reliability and operational requirements
- Strong production debugging and observability skills across services
- Experience with payments and billing infrastructure, including subscription lifecycles, transaction orchestration, refunds and disputes, payouts, and financial state management
- Systems-thinking mindset covering failure modes, idempotency, consistency, security, compliance, auditability, and access control
- Nice to have: open-source contributions or side projects/apps
