Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Data JPA.
- Build and support event-driven and microservices-based architectures using Kafka.
- Design and implement resilient distributed systems using Circuit Breaker and SAGA/Choreography patterns.
- Develop database integrations and write and optimize ANSI SQL queries.
- Design, deploy, and optimize applications running on AWS.
- Lead technical design, architecture discussions, engineering best practices, and complex technical problem-solving.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance, scalability, resilience, and security.
- Contribute to coding, code reviews, design discussions, CI/CD, observability, automation, and secure software delivery.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers and help raise engineering standards across the organization.
Requirements
- 12–18 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Kafka, AWS, and ANSI SQL.
- Strong experience building microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications in production environments.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Understanding of REST APIs, system integration, scalability, reliability, secure software design, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern engineering practices.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Good-to-have experience with Temporal, generative AI or AI-enabled engineering, GitHub Copilot, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, Docker, and observability tools.
