Base Salary
$205k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs that power the AI-driven healthcare platform.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and design teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Integrate AI capabilities into services, managing inference and orchestrating external AI APIs.
- Ensure service reliability through best practices in deployment, monitoring, and observability.
- Operate production systems end-to-end, including deployment and incident response.
- Handle sensitive and regulated data with attention to security and compliance.
- Document technical processes and create standard operating procedures within the engineering team.
- Drive backend architecture decisions and mentor team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in backend engineering roles.
- Proficiency in backend languages such as Go, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
- Deep knowledge of modern API protocols like REST, gRPC, and GraphQL.
- Experience supporting production systems end-to-end, including development and monitoring.
- Bonus: exposure to AI/ML services through API integration or internal tooling.
- Bonus: experience with regulated data domains like healthcare or financial services.
- Ability to work 5 days a week in the San Francisco office.
