Responsibilities
- Own the technical scope, architecture, implementation, and delivery planning for a product capability.
- Build full-stack, production-grade, cloud-native applications spanning frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
- Design scalable event-driven and microservices architectures and make day-to-day architecture decisions.
- Integrate AI, ML, and LLM capabilities into production products, including retrieval-augmented generation, orchestration, and agent workflows.
- Implement delivery automation, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines to support frequent and reliable releases.
- Serve as Builder Lead for a small team by organizing work, breaking down tasks, pairing on difficult problems, and keeping delivery on track.
- Coach developers through code review, technical mentorship, knowledge sharing, and AI-assisted development practices.
- Represent the technical work to Product, Design, and technical leadership and provide technical documentation.
- Apply algorithms, statistical modeling, machine learning, optimization, forecasting, simulation, and quantitative methods to product and operational problems.
- Evaluate model and algorithm performance using metrics, test data, error analysis, and production feedback.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of hands-on software development or engineering experience in complex enterprise or cloud environments.
- At least 7 years of full-stack development experience building and shipping customer-facing or internal business applications.
- At least 4 years of experience integrating AI, ML, or LLM capabilities into production software, including RAG, agent workflows, prompt orchestration, or model/API integration.
- At least 2 years of technical leadership experience involving architecture input, code review, task breakdown, mentoring, and implementation guidance.
- At least 2 years as a technical lead or builder lead owning a product capability or feature set from design through delivery.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language and framework, with working knowledge of additional languages or stacks.
- Experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining scalable cloud-native applications using distributed-system patterns, microservices, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and software delivery practices.
- Experience collaborating across Product, Design, Engineering, and Operations to convert ambiguous business needs into measurable technical solutions.
- Experience with data cleaning, feature design, validation, quality checks, analytical workflows, data pipelines, experimentation, and production monitoring for models or algorithms.
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf and working with retrieval-augmented generation, LLM orchestration, or agent workflows.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada, not pose a safeguarding risk for controlled goods, and be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems; modern cloud and application-delivery tooling experience; enterprise systems and legacy modernization experience; and aerospace or industrial software experience.
