Base Salary

$168k - $227k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical vision and architecture for EC2 pricing and computing-resource exchange software, including pricing models and risk distribution.
  • Lead cross-organizational initiatives to design, build, and optimize customer-facing EC2 features.
  • Define web service APIs and use AWS technologies to develop customer features.
  • Drive technical investments that improve reliability, scalability, and performance across teams.
  • Reduce friction for developers building applications on EC2 through simpler APIs, tooling, and service architecture improvements.
  • Influence engineering best practices and operational excellence standards.
  • Automatically deploy and monitor services to identify performance issues proactively.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire software developers.
  • Mentor developers and provide technical guidance on complex design decisions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 8+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
  • Preferred: 10+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
