Senior Edge application Developer

- Architect and develop scalable, high-performance edge computing solutions for IoT applications.
- Design and implement asynchronous task processing and device communication using Python frameworks and libraries.
- Develop and optimize IoT data pipelines connecting sensors, edge devices, and cloud platforms.
- Define edge computing strategies, system architectures, and engineering best practices with cross-functional teams.
- Implement device-to-cloud communication using MQTT, WebSockets, and other messaging protocols.
- Design and optimize Linux networking, including network configuration, VPNs, firewalls, and traffic shaping.
- Manage Linux processes, systemd services, resource allocation, and performance tuning for IoT applications.
- Ensure edge software is secure, reliable, and optimized for resource-constrained environments.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical leadership.
- Stay current with IoT, edge computing, and Linux networking technologies.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of overall software engineering experience with a strong focus on Python development.
- Expertise in Python and asynchronous programming, including experience with asyncio, Twistd, Tornado, FastAPI, or Flask.
- Strong knowledge of Linux networking, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
- Experience with Linux process management, systemd, cgroups, resource limits, and performance tuning.
- Understanding of IoT architectures, MQTT, HTTP, and edge computing frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Docker.
- Proficiency with Git or another version control system.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and lead technical projects.
- Strong communication, teamwork, judgment, time management, and decision-making skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience designing robust, scalable, and maintainable asynchronous Python applications is preferred.
- Prior experience building cloud-connected edge IoT solutions is preferred.
- Experience in the energy sector or industrial automation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Rust, C++, or Golang, BACnet, Modbus, and cloud IoT platforms is advantageous.
