Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive software test plans and strategies covering functionality, performance, user experience, and quality standards.
- Create and execute automated test scripts using testing frameworks and tools to detect defects early.
- Drive test strategy, environment strategy, automation, and testing-efficiency targets for the Quality Engineering practice.
- Collaborate with product, design, development, and other cross-functional teams on requirements, design discussions, acceptance criteria, code reviews, and defect resolution.
- Perform root-cause analysis and provide developers with detailed information to support defect remediation.
- Support and maintain non-production environments with distributed systems and highly available services.
- Contribute to test governance, policies, processes, continuous improvement, risk management, and control strengthening.
- Advise functional leadership and senior stakeholders on testing, technology, risk, and cross-functional impacts.
- Guide technical direction, coach less experienced specialists, and potentially define team responsibilities and future resource needs.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a technically minded software engineer focused on Quality Engineering and software testing automation.
- Expertise in test management, test strategy, automation frameworks, and modern test-efficiency tools.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks for web, mobile, and API technology stacks.
- Knowledge of service virtualization, GitLab, BDD, and Gherkin.
- Experience with GitLab Duo, Selenium, Karate, and Cucumber is highly valued.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and repositories, including tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
- Practical experience supporting non-production environments involving distributed systems and highly available services.
- Experience with observability and monitoring solutions such as AppDynamics, Splunk, or ELK is desirable.
- Strong logical reasoning, problem-solving, performance-tuning, communication, time-management, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
- Ability to work in large collaborative teams, respond to changing priorities, and guide technical or specialist assignments.
- Ability to contribute to strategy, risk and controls, change and transformation, business alignment, and long-term technical decisions.
