- Own the design, implementation, rollout, and ongoing operation of major third-party, customer-side, and internal integrations.
- Build and maintain modular integrations with KYB, KYC/IDV, AML, fraud, banking, identity, and other data providers.
- Design, evolve, and operate versioned public APIs and SDKs with authentication, rate limiting, backward compatibility, and strong developer experience.
- Write production code across backend and, where needed, frontend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, and React.js.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas and optimize queries, indexing, performance, and data integrity for high-throughput integration pipelines.
- Build event-driven workflows using Kafka and Redis for enrichment, retries, dead-lettering, backpressure, caching, deduplication, and rate limiting.
- Deploy, monitor, and debug containerized integration services in Kubernetes and create alerting and operational runbooks.
- Refactor legacy integration code into modular, testable, swappable adapters and handle production incidents methodically.
- Lead by example through code reviews, mentoring, technical direction, and communication of tradeoffs across engineering, product, partnerships, and customer-facing teams.
Requirements

- Demonstrated ownership of major production features or subsystems, ideally involving integrations or platform APIs.
- Deep expertise in the Node.js and TypeScript ecosystem.
- Strong system design skills involving retries, idempotency, circuit breakers, rate limiting, webhook handling, and graceful degradation.
- Experience designing or operating public APIs or SDKs, including versioning, authentication, contracts, and developer ergonomics.
- Hands-on PostgreSQL experience including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience building or maintaining event-driven systems using Kafka.
- Experience operating containerized applications in Kubernetes.
- Experience refactoring complex or legacy integration code into modular, swappable, well-tested adapters.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and raising team quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in high-ambiguity environments with incomplete, contradictory, or changing partner specifications.
- Bonus experience with KYB, KYC/IDV, AML, fraud, banking, identity, fintech, payments, lending, or regulated data environments.
- Bonus experience shipping public SDKs, using AWS services, Terraform, Redis caching strategies, Redshift schema design, ETL pipelines, and Python backend systems.
