Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and implement medium to large software enhancements and solutions.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to translate business requirements into sustainable software.
- Participate in product architecture design within the team’s scope.
- Develop applications using Java, Python, SQL, JavaScript, and related software engineering languages.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical insight and direction.
- Write unit and automation tests and conduct manual testing to ensure product quality.
- Create design and API documentation and support customer documentation processes.
- Participate in the CRD Scrum process, including standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with cross-team groups, business counterparts, and application teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns when required.
- Provide L3/L4 technical support and troubleshoot production, application, and database performance issues.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience with core and enterprise Java, including collections, concurrency, multithreading, JDBC, and web services.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and developing highly transactional, concurrent, event-driven systems.
- Hands-on Java software development experience delivering, testing, debugging, and implementing applications, with practical exposure to C#, SQL, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Java and Spring-based applications and low-latency, high-throughput, globally distributed systems.
- Experience writing unit tests and producing clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture on AWS or Azure and modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Familiarity with Kafka and Apache Flink for messaging, streaming, event-driven, and real-time processing systems.
- Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry for observability and monitoring.
- Experience troubleshooting application and database performance issues in distributed systems.
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and software engineering best practices.
- Understanding of AI and Generative AI concepts and practical use of AI-enabled tools such as Copilot.
- Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or data analysis is highly desirable.
- At least 2 years of financial services experience, including exposure to OMS and EMS systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- BE or equivalent educational qualification in a Computer Science background.
- Financial trading systems experience is a strong plus.
