Responsibilities
- Define the architecture vision and high-level designs for post-trade regulatory reporting.
- Design and deliver enterprise-scale cloud data platforms using batch, streaming, event-driven, lakehouse, and cross-cloud integration patterns.
- Guide infrastructure teams in establishing the runtimes required for data architectures.
- Drive data quality, profiling, governance, access control, compliance, and fit-for-purpose reporting data.
- Produce HLDs, reference architectures, ADRs, and other artefacts for formal review and approval.
- Evaluate architectural options, document trade-offs, and make pragmatic decisions under ambiguity.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to realize integration designs and evolve technology strategy.
- Provide thought leadership, coaching, mentoring, standards, and knowledge sharing across development communities.
Requirements
- 12–15 years of experience as a Technical Architect with hands-on ownership of enterprise-scale cloud data platform design from concept through production.
- Strong cloud architecture expertise in GCP and AWS, with deep practical knowledge of at least one platform.
- Experience designing and implementing lakehouse architectures using medallion patterns, progressive data quality, immutability, and dimensional modelling.
- Experience with batch and streaming data architectures, Kafka, event-driven ingestion, messaging systems, and cloud data platforms.
- Solid understanding of data governance, including IAM/RBAC, PII encryption, data classification, audit logging, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience designing cloud integration patterns involving REST APIs, managed file transfer, event streaming, AWS-to-GCP integration, and service authentication.
- Knowledge of dimensional data modelling, canonical data models, and schema registries such as Avro.
- Experience with Java, event-driven and microservices architectures, data lakes, operational data stores, data warehouses, MongoDB, and Oracle is required or preferred as stated.
- GCP experience with BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Google Cloud Storage, Dataproc, VPC Service Controls, IAM, and Dataplex is a strong advantage.
- Experience with Apache Flink or Apache Spark and regulatory reporting solutions involving MiFID, ESMA, GDPR, FCA, or equivalent contexts is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, communication, facilitation, stakeholder influence, judgement, and consensus-building skills are required.
