Base Salary
$75k - $160k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive OS and firmware update strategies focused on testing, stability, performance, security, and remote management.
- Develop tools and processes for automated testing of servers and operating-system images.
- Monitor server-fleet health and performance, including upgrades, maintenance, hardware and firmware response, and anomaly detection.
- Build fleet-management automation using Ansible, Terraform, Python, Go, and Rust.
- Partner with OpenStack, Ceph storage, and hybrid-cloud teams on private-cloud automation and update impacts.
- Develop hardware lifecycle strategies from procurement through decommissioning.
- Track CPU, chipset, storage, GPU, firmware, and BMC innovations and lead infrastructure adaptation.
Requirements
- Professional development experience in one or more of Python, Go, Rust, or C.
- Familiarity with Ansible and Terraform in an enterprise private-cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience with OS and firmware management strategies in a private-cloud environment.
- Hands-on server-management experience with Redfish, BMC, and IPMI standards.
- Knowledge of server hardware architecture, including CPU, chipset, storage, GPU integration, and interoperability standards.
- Understanding of OpenStack and experience improving server-fleet management and automation.
- Experience implementing logging and dashboards with Grafana, Prometheus, or Loki.
- Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, and OAuth.
- Strong problem-solving, strategic-thinking, and integration-detail skills.
- Industry certifications in hardware engineering, firmware management, or data-center operations are beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
