Responsibilities
- Set the architecture and technical direction for Oura’s agentic development pipeline across mobile, backend, web, and AI service repositories.
- Extend agentic workflows across the full software development lifecycle, including specification checks, test generation, automated review, CI failure repair, release verification, and post-deployment signals.
- Prototype workflows rapidly, validate them with real engineering squads, and harden successful approaches into production infrastructure.
- Own production AI evaluation, LLM-as-a-judge grading, versioning, tracing, dashboards, and metrics such as merge rate, rework, time-to-signal, cost per change, and escaped defects.
- Design sandboxing, permissions, human checkpoints, privacy controls, and risk-based guardrails for autonomous engineering work.
- Drive organization-wide adoption through paved paths, templates, documentation, skills, and collaboration with engineering teams.
- Partner with platform, developer productivity, security, privacy, AI infrastructure, mobile, backend, product, design, and engineering leadership teams.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating production systems used by other engineers, including developer tooling, internal platforms, or AI infrastructure at scale.
- Demonstrated experience building and operating agentic coding workflows or autonomous loops in a real engineering organization, such as background agents producing pull requests, automated review, CI repair, or test generation.
- Ability to reason across specification, review, testing, CI/CD, release, and operations as one lifecycle.
- Technical leadership experience setting direction across teams, producing architectural designs, and making architecture and risk decisions.
- Strong fundamentals in at least one backend, iOS, or Android domain, including APIs, concurrency, distributed systems, testing, debugging, and reliability.
- Technical versatility across backend, iOS, and Android platforms and ability to learn new stacks quickly.
- Understanding of security, privacy, sensitive personal data, and safe access for autonomous agents.
- Ability to work through ambiguity, experiment, communicate clearly, collaborate with skeptical teams, and influence engineers, managers, and non-engineering partners.
- Preferred experience with coding agents, MCP servers, hooks, sub-agent orchestration, headless runs, evaluation harnesses, LLM-as-judge grading, sandboxed execution, virtual machine or container fleets, macOS build infrastructure, developer productivity measurement, mobile applications, regulated or privacy-sensitive products, open-source AI projects, or engineering mentorship.
