Responsibilities
- Design technical solutions for business problems and contribute to the platform’s architectural vision.
- Build and ship backend services and occasional frontend functionality.
- Own the development and operation of team-managed services.
- Deploy frequent releases using CircleCI and Spinnaker.
- Monitor services, diagnose root causes, troubleshoot issues, and deploy fixes.
- Align service development with the broader engineering strategy.
- Mentor more junior engineers and contribute to a high-performance engineering environment.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience working at a similar level in a mature engineering team.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Preferably experience with Java and Spring, with working knowledge of Kotlin and Ruby.
- Ideally experience with relational databases.
- A degree in a STEM subject is preferred, but equivalent experience or an alternative career path is accepted.
- A demonstrable record of impact and strong technical ownership.
- Highly driven, proactive, meticulous, and independently able to overcome obstacles.
