Responsibilities
- Create, execute, and maintain tests according to test scripts and test plans.
- Document test strategies and test cases, prepare test environments, and perform integration, system, and regression testing.
- Independently test software systems end to end and raise defects in the system.
- Perform root cause analysis and deep-dive investigation of issues and test results.
- Review system requirements and business processes and determine testing scope from business and technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain testing tools and frameworks for broader team use.
- Identify testing-related project risks and follow up on issues affecting release schedules.
- Mentor, guide, and train junior QA team members.
Requirements
- At least 8–12 years of software testing experience specifically in server-side testing.
- Strong back-end testing knowledge and proven experience using UNIX/Linux command-line tools and regular expressions, including grep, sed, Perl, and awk.
- Commercial experience with Linux-based scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline.
- Ability to plan and set up test environments, analyze test results, conduct root cause analysis, and complete testing independently.
- Ability to communicate testing strategies, question unclear requirements, identify project risks, and manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred experience in financial services, trading, capital markets, compliance, regulation, surveillance, or other related domains.
- Preferred experience with multiple asset classes, high transaction volumes, AWS-hosted applications, and developing testing tools or frameworks.
- Specialist certifications in QA or testing methodology are preferred.
- Ability to mentor and train junior QA team members.
