Responsibilities
- Define software requirements, architecture, component breakdowns, interfaces, and technical design choices.
- Design and implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated compilation, testing, and deployment.
- Build and manage containerized cloud environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement GitOps workflows with ArgoCD and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible.
- Set up monitoring, observability, alerting, and performance optimization using Prometheus and Grafana.
- Collaborate with development, QA, operations, security, systems, and hardware teams to streamline secure software delivery.
- Perform software and hardware/software integration, testing, verification, and lifecycle sustainment.
- Implement identity management, security measures, compliance controls, and high-availability practices.
- Mentor developers and junior engineers, provide technical leadership, and guide continuous improvement.
- Maintain technology awareness, reuse standardized solutions, and support software and railway engineering processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or software engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture with a strong focus on DevOps and CI/CD.
- Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD, version control, containerization, orchestration, and cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in Python and C, with additional experience in Java, Go, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform, Ansible, and monitoring or logging tools.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and automation or configuration-management tools such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible.
- Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, NTP, software development lifecycles, performance optimization, and code refactoring.
- Understanding of security best practices, vulnerabilities, user-interface design principles, and software testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
- DevOps or architecture certification, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, is preferred.
- Railway-domain experience in signalling, power supply, or systems engineering is a bonus.
