Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data scientists and developers to build abstractions, infrastructure, interfaces, and features for large-scale machine learning systems.
- Develop services, pipelines, ML recipes, evaluations, and integrations supporting data cleaning, model training, hyperparameter tuning, testing, validation, scaling, and optimization.
- Own features end to end, including requirements gathering, maintainable production code, debugging tools, tests, logging, telemetry, and code reviews.
- Create test strategies and execute test plans to ensure solution quality and appropriate code coverage.
- Automate production deployment toward zero-touch operation where possible.
- Apply security best practices and security hardening across product features.
- Use appropriate AI agents, skills, and practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 3+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C#, Java, Python, or equivalent experience.
- Experience using AI agents and tools in day-to-day work.
- Production software development experience building internet-scale services and distributed systems.
- Ability to debug, read code, and contribute to a large and growing codebase.
- Experience collaborating with developers and other stakeholders, with strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with AI/ML internals is preferred.
- Engineering knowledge of machine learning systems and data pipelines is preferred.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
