Lead Software Engineer

- Lead complex, companywide software engineering initiatives with broad organizational impact.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, and review complex large-scale technology solutions.
- Build telemetry, monitoring, observability, and synthetic monitoring capabilities across on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Develop and deploy AI-powered observability capabilities including anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, remediation guidance, and operational automation.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices and provide strategic technical guidance to leadership.
- Collaborate with technical experts, senior technology teams, architecture groups, external providers, and business stakeholders.
- Lead projects, mentor peers, and influence adoption of emerging technologies and AI-powered systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Strong experience with modern programming languages and full-stack software development.
- Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, time-series metrics, capacity analytics, machine learning, or synthetic monitoring tools.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, Linux shell scripting, Java Spring Boot, ReactJS, Spring Framework, UML, NoSQL and SQL databases, Kafka, and microservices development.
- At least 4 years of experience developing AI-powered products end-to-end, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and optimization.
- Experience with ThousandEyes, AppDynamics, Splunk, BigPanda, Prometheus, or comparable monitoring and alerting tools.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with data analysis, data import, data feeds, application performance troubleshooting, and networking concepts including BGP, DNS, TCP/IP, and HTTP/S.
- Deep understanding of memory management, multithreading, REST-based services, React, and Spring/Spring Boot.
- Knowledge of application and software security, including web application penetration testing, secure code review, and secure static code analysis.
- Strong communication, stakeholder relationship-building, influencing, and collaboration skills.
- CCNP or CCIE certification is desired.
