Base Salary
$140k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded and real-time software for manufacturing-cell automation, including cobot integration, fixture control, bring-up sequences, and data acquisition.
- Build and operate SIL, HIL, and VIL infrastructure for automated hardware and software integration validation.
- Own the edge agent and hardware abstraction layer connecting factory equipment to the cloud platform.
- Develop firmware-adjacent bring-up and flashing tools, including factory flashing stations for production hardware.
- Partner with manufacturing engineering and hardware teams to define automation strategies for manufacturing cells.
- Integrate ROS 2 or equivalent robotics middleware with industrial cobots such as UR, Fanuc, and ABB.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to ITAR regulations, subject to the stated export-control eligibility requirements.
- At least 5 years of embedded, real-time, or robotics software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Python, with comfort working at the software/hardware boundary.
- Hands-on experience with industrial cobots or robotic systems and motion control.
- Experience building or operating HIL/SIL test infrastructure for hardware-connected software.
- Fluency with Linux-based embedded systems, real-time operating systems, or equivalent.
- Preferred qualifications include 10+ years of relevant experience, manufacturing automation or industrial robotics deployment experience, ROS 2 experience, firmware bring-up and hardware flashing experience, and aerospace, defense, or regulated-manufacturing experience.
- Ability to influence engineering teams without formal authority through design reviews, technical decisions, and cross-team alignment.
