Responsibilities
- Automate existing manual regression suites for Distribution Tools products using T-Plan Robot as the primary CAD-based desktop GUI automation engine.
- Design and implement reusable test frameworks and patterns for desktop and Revit-integrated applications.
- Execute automated test suites, analyze failures, and document defects with clear reproduction steps.
- Maintain test automation infrastructure and integrate it with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Evaluate AI and LLM tools for authoring and maintaining GUI test scripts, including generate-then-validate workflows.
- Document effective AI-assisted testing practices and collaborate with developers and product owners to prioritize high-value regression scenarios.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and code reviews as an embedded Distribution Tools team member.
- Track automation coverage, defect trends, and time saved, and eventually extend frameworks and mentorship to other desktop product teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of combined experience in manual and automated testing of desktop or engineering software.
- Hands-on experience with T-Plan Robot or a comparable image/OCR-based GUI automation tool for desktop applications.
- Applied experience using AI and LLM tools in a development or QA workflow, including understanding productivity gains and repeatability risks.
- Proficiency with at least one general-purpose test automation framework such as NUnit, Selenium, or WinAppDriver.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Preferred familiarity with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, or Inventor and their automation APIs.
- Preferred experience establishing a test automation practice from a limited existing base.
- Preferred background in utility, energy, or infrastructure engineering software.
