Responsibilities
- Define requirements and user stories for software supporting infrared sensor and system development.
- Design, implement, integrate, verify, validate, and maintain software applications and libraries.
- Develop and maintain data collection, processing, storage, and viewing tools.
- Follow established DRS software engineering processes.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team and perform additional assigned duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- At least 5 years of full-stack web development or software engineering experience.
- Senior-level proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Python, Go, gRPC, microservices, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Senior-level proficiency with relational and/or non-relational databases, including technologies such as SQL Server and MongoDB.
- Senior-level proficiency with source control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn and apply new software engineering technologies and methodologies and work with minimal supervision.
- College-level mathematics knowledge, including calculus, statistics, and linear algebra.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Active Department of Defense security clearance or ability to obtain one within a reasonable time after employment begins.
- Experience with product ownership or requirements engineering is preferred, and Scrum experience is preferred.
