Base Salary

$136k - $204k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and document certification test plans for NOS releases, fabric interconnection, and new product features before production deployment.
  • Build and maintain large-scale staging environments that replicate service-provider and data-center topologies.
  • Perform interoperability, regression, scalability, performance, and high-availability testing across multi-vendor environments.
  • Collaborate with network vendors to track software defects, validate hotfixes, and influence product roadmaps.
  • Develop production-readiness playbooks, deployment strategies, and rollback procedures with production engineering teams.
  • Research emerging network technologies and evaluate vendor roadmaps and feature-integration feasibility.
  • Contribute to Layer 1–3 network architecture and design and verify designs through hands-on technical deep-dives.
  • Provide technical guidance on network hardware and network operating system selection.
  • Automate certification workflows and support testing and troubleshooting in containerized, Kubernetes, hybrid-cloud, and AWS networking environments.
  • Evaluate AI/ML tools and LLMs for automated test-case generation, log anomaly detection, and predictive root-cause analysis.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering and automation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with OSI layers, routing, and switching in large-scale, multi-vendor environments.
  • Deep proficiency with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, segment routing, VXLAN, EVPN, L2VPN, L3VPN, CNF, VNF, SR-IOV, and DPDK.
  • Experience with Nokia, Juniper, Cisco, and Arrcus networking platforms and network operating systems.
  • Experience with network test equipment and traffic generators such as Spirent, Keysight/Ixia, Avalanche, IPerf, and Trex.
  • Proficiency with Python, Ansible, PyATS, Netmiko, REST APIs, NETCONF, RESTCONF, and gNMI.
  • Familiarity with Docker containers, Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS networking services including VPC, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE, or AWS Solutions Architect are a plus.

  • Targeted base pay range of $136,000–$204,000 annually for the Dallas Infomart, United States location; bonus and possible equity are separate from base pay.
