Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve reusable data engineering patterns for scalable onboarding of enterprise data sources into the lakehouse.
  • Design and implement automated data management processes that improve data quality, security, governance, and responsible handling of sensitive information.
  • Own technical deliverables from solution design and development through testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
  • Design and build reusable data models, pipelines, frameworks, and components for multiple business use cases.
  • Improve performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, engineering standards, and technical debt management.
  • Apply automated testing, data validation, CI/CD, observability, code reviews, and documentation practices.
  • Translate business requirements and KPIs into practical technical solutions in collaboration with Product and business stakeholders.
  • Partner with Data, AI, and engineering teams to provide trusted data for analytics, AI applications, operational workflows, and business processes.
  • Guide technical decisions, mentor engineers, participate in design discussions, and share engineering patterns and best practices.
  • Identify and drive improvements in data platform tooling, engineering processes, data quality, reliability, and team productivity.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in software or data engineering, including enterprise data platforms, warehouses, lakehouses, or data-intensive applications.
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java, with experience building complex pipelines, transformations, reusable components, and data services.
  • Understanding of modern lakehouse architecture, data modeling, partitioning, schema evolution, incremental processing, CDC, data quality, and performance tuning.
  • Strong Databricks experience, including Delta tables, Spark, batch and streaming pipelines, optimization, and scalable data engineering practices.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, especially GCP and/or Azure, and technologies such as BigQuery, Azure, Databricks, Postgres, or Dataflow.
  • Experience with orchestration and integration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Fivetran, dbt, APIs, CDC, and batch or streaming technologies.
  • Experience with software engineering fundamentals including modular design, version control, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Hands-on experience with data quality checks, validation frameworks, reconciliation, automated testing, and pipeline reliability tooling.
  • Experience building reusable data structures and engineering patterns across teams and use cases.
  • Strong technical design, problem-solving, performance tuning, ownership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability and willingness to mentor engineers and work with engineers, product managers, data scientists, analysts, and business teams.
  • Palantir Foundry, Ontology, or AIP experience is preferred but not required.
  • An undergraduate degree in computer science or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent experience, along with a demonstrated desire for continuing education and improvement.
