Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate platform software in Go on Kubernetes.
- Own platform components through delivery and production, including controllers, automation, and GitOps.
- Lead the design of a component, mentor engineers, and maintain production ownership without day-to-day direction.
- Collaborate with InfraOps and platform teams to make changes safe to roll out and easy to use.
- Use metrics, logs, and alerts to assess whether changes are healthy.
Requirements
- Production software engineering experience, including ownership of a service or platform component through design, delivery, and production.
- Proficiency in Go or a similar systems programming language.
- Practical production Kubernetes experience, including workloads, APIs, and cluster failure behavior.
- Linux experience and a habit of testing shipped software.
- Knowledge of observability using metrics, logs, and alerts.
- Clear written and spoken English for design notes, code reviews, and cross-team discussions.
- Ability to use coding agents in day-to-day work or learn that workflow quickly while maintaining judgment and code quality.
- Preferred: experience with Kubernetes controllers, operators, CRDs, Cluster API, ArgoCD, GitOps, networking, DNS, certificates, load balancing, open-source operators or controllers, infrastructure CI/CD, and large multi-team engineering organizations.
