Responsibilities
- Lead development and management of software solutions integrating with advanced networking technologies.
- Own moderately complex projects involving network operating systems and related infrastructure.
- Translate software designs into development plans and lead solutions spanning multiple interacting modules.
- Design and deliver monitoring, automation, and network-operations software.
- Serve as a networking subject matter expert for root cause analysis and complex task automation.
- Act as a module lead while collaborating with senior and junior engineers and organizational stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on networking.
- Minimum qualifications allow 8 years of software development experience, or specified bachelor's/master's degrees with 2-4 years of experience, or a doctorate in a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Expertise with network operating systems and networking hardware.
- Experience developing software for large enterprises or cloud provider environments.
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and MPLS.
- Experience with network automation, scripting, and tooling such as Ansible.
- Familiarity with YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF.
- Knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native environments, APIs, and network security.
- Two years of professional cloud-platform experience, three years of system-level testing and automation experience, and two years delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency across software engineering, web development, prototyping, algorithms, operating systems, API development and integration, source control, and vulnerability mitigation.
- Strong organizational, verbal, written communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
