Responsibilities
- Maintain the reliability, performance, and availability of PhonePe’s fintech infrastructure
- Implement IT operations and reliability best practices for always-up and always-available services
- Use open-source technologies, tools, and cloud services across production infrastructure
- Participate actively in the on-call rotation
- Operate and support Linux networking, databases, private cloud environments, automation, and configuration management
Requirements
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration and extensive experience in the field
- Working proficiency in computer networking and Linux networking, including IP, iptables, and IPsec
- Experience with open-source technologies, tools, cloud services, IT operations, and always-available services
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
- Effective English communication skills
- Working experience with MySQL; MariaDB and Percona experience is a plus
- Coding and scripting skills, preferably in Perl, Python, or Golang
- Experience with automation and configuration management using tools such as SaltStack
- Hands-on experience with private cloud environments
- Experience implementing cloud services on Linux using KVM/QEMU is desirable
- Familiarity with container orchestration technology is desirable
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases, especially Aerospike, is desirable
- Proficiency in Perl and Golang is desirable
- Understanding of Galera cluster operations and experience with data center activities are desirable
