Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and industry teams to gather requirements and translate mission needs into language standards, use cases, and features.
- Design and implement domain-specific language syntax, control flows, configurability, runtime updates, and hierarchical language refinements.
- Develop compiler diagnostics, developer tooling, IDE integrations, and other client-facing developer experience capabilities.
- Build hardware abstraction and language interfaces for radio-frequency components and waveform sources.
- Integrate language technologies with defense software platforms while supporting interoperability, scalability, parameterizable inputs, and security compliance.
- Document technical designs, workflows, and best practices for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience with deep knowledge of syntax, semantics, and morphology.
- Familiarity with parser generators, compiler toolchains, and software and system architecture design.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, and C++.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to obtain or possess a current or recent U.S. Government Security (DoD) Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain clearance.
- Ability to work in Dayton, Ohio, attend periodic days at WPAFB, and travel up to 25%.
- Preferred qualifications include DoD or national security experience, knowledge of defense data types and communication protocols, radio-frequency systems experience, familiarity with AWS GovCloud and Azure Government, secure software development experience, and an active DoD clearance.
- Ability to meet the stated physical, travel, mobility, and computer-work requirements.
