Responsibilities
- Lead test projects from planning through completion by defining scope, milestones, success criteria, and execution plans.
- Develop and execute test plans and test cases for infotainment media applications and functions.
- Design and implement automated integration tests for source switching, playback controls, metadata validation, and audio quality checks.
- Identify, analyze, and document defects during subsystem HIL and in-vehicle integration testing, and drive root-cause analysis through closure.
- Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, understand requirements and architecture, and communicate test strategy, status, and risk.
- Plan and prioritize testing across multiple concurrent workstreams while maintaining project momentum.
- Serve as a technical lead and mentor within the QA team and establish testing best practices.
- Maintain test environments and contribute to improvements in testing processes and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or greater in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience integrating and testing automotive infotainment subsystems or similar consumer electronics devices.
- Demonstrated experience leading test projects or initiatives and managing multiple parallel efforts.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and techniques.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
- Solid scripting skills in Python and Shell for test automation.
- Comfort working with POSIX-based embedded systems, including Linux, Android, and/or QNX.
- Experience with Android/ADB.
- Experience with pytest, Appium, and other automation tools.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Automotive, CAN, and Ethernet experience is a plus.
