Staff Software Engineer - Pulsar Team

Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate platform and administration services used across Bloomreach SaaS products.
- Develop centralized services for Model Context Protocol APIs, customer provisioning, licensing orchestration, user management, authentication, authorization, and configuration management.
- Create tools for new customer integration and product tuning.
- Write technical design documents, participate in design and code reviews, and collaborate with product managers and engineers.
- Improve logging, alerting, testing, and reliability for high-availability production components.
- Provide technical guidance to other teams and share expertise through documentation and team communication.
- Break down project work, coordinate tasks, and deliver product improvements used by thousands of customers.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience developing backend services with Python and a variety of data systems.
- Understanding of web security principles, including OWASP, authentication, and authorization practices.
- Experience designing APIs for SaaS products.
- Experience operating production services on public cloud infrastructure.
- Some experience with Java/Spring or Go.
- Exposure to frontend development with Angular or React.
- Active use of AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
- Ability to work across distributed cloud systems and varied technology stacks.
- Ability to guide less experienced team members, communicate across teams and regions, and document technical work.
