Responsibilities
- Own the operational excellence of storage systems and features, including their interactions with other systems.
- Collaborate with back-end engineers and architects to build resilient, massively scalable solutions.
- Work with SRE teams and stakeholders to meet storage back-end reliability and business requirements.
- Document back-end capabilities and their proper usage.
- Create technical designs and implement platform improvements.
Requirements
- Have deep back-end development experience with C++, Go, Rust, or PHP.
- Have experience building complex production systems.
- Have experience with profiling methods and tools.
- Have led a team initiative from discovery through production.
- Have a solid understanding of security best practices.
- Have a high-level understanding of cryptography concepts.
- Experience with storage systems such as Ceph, Seaweed, or Tape is a bonus.
- Operational experience such as SRE or on-call work, including diagnosing and troubleshooting complex critical-system problems, is a bonus.
