Responsibilities

  • Lead embedded software requirements, architecture, design, coding, testing, hardware integration, and end-to-end delivery for communication, navigation, surveillance, and traffic management products.
  • Provide technical leadership for new product introduction projects, technical proposals, product technical councils, PDRs, CDRs, and compliance reviews.
  • Develop software requirements and technical documentation from customer inputs and guide products through FAA/EASA certification requirements.
  • Provide field investigation, application, and factory support for products.
  • Lead technical discussions and decisions across global sites, disciplines, stakeholders, customers, and partners.
  • Evaluate technologies, resolve technical risks, estimate work, and drive innovative product and process improvements.
  • Mentor and upskill engineers, support prototyping, and build technical capabilities across India and US teams.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, competitive intelligence, regional initiatives, and new product or feature development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science is required; BE/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech is stated, and an MTech in Avionics is a plus.
  • 12+ years of experience in the aerospace industry or a similar safety-critical industry building and certifying products.
  • Experience leading technical design and software architecture for product development and driving technical proposals.
  • At least two years of experience handling product development, software design, and architectural elements.
  • Experience with technical documentation, customer-derived software requirements, DO-178B/DO-178C certification requirements, software configuration and version control, and hardware/software integration.
  • Experience providing technical leadership to cross-disciplinary and cross-site teams, with knowledge of software development lifecycles and safety-critical development processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of product algorithms, strong software development and analytical skills, and the ability to solve complex problems systematically.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, initiative, adaptability, creativity, and ability to work with limited supervision.
