Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, integrate, document, and test applications, systems, programs, and software.
- Engineer and support Microsoft Fabric and Power BI migrations, workloads, datasets, visualizations, and related operations.
- Build scalable data pipelines, data models, reusable data processes, and analytics tools across on-premises and Azure environments.
- Support and manage Azure data platforms including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse, SQL Server, and HDInsight.
- Perform problem and incident management, analyze technical issues, present designs, and provide insights to leadership.
- Maintain ADLS operations and enforce governance and security across Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
- Analyze and optimize Azure resource costs and design governance solutions for efficient resource usage.
- Develop complex SQL queries in Azure SQL and support data initiatives for software developers, data analysts, and data scientists.
- Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data and report engineering, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with Spark engineering, PySpark, Spark SQL, KQL, and Spark performance optimization.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Azure-hosted applications, Microsoft Fabric workload operations, Databricks, and Spark application engineering.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering, data modeling, data analysis, data visualization, reporting, and analytics.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure data services.
- Experience with relational and non-relational data stores, ETL tools such as Talend, SQL scripting, and data modeling technologies including Native HANA and TDV.
- Knowledge of Medallion architecture, DataOps, platform engineering, automation, AI with automation and data agents, and Fabric or Azure governance.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, prioritization, problem-solving, planning, and task-management skills.
- Understanding of SDLC, engineering operations, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and project management tools such as Jira.
- An IT graduate qualification such as BE, BTech, or MCA is preferred; relevant BI or cloud certifications, preferably Azure, are a plus.
- Experience working in a captive organization is a plus.
