Base Salary
$184k - $357k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop open-source libraries and tools for agent harnesses and frameworks.
- Benchmark agents to identify bottlenecks and improve performance, cost, latency, accuracy, quality, and stability.
- Build agentic tools and reusable building blocks that improve developer velocity and agent quality.
- Design or extend stable, usable, backward-compatible cross-language APIs.
- Collaborate with teams building data pipelines, RAG systems, vector databases, and GPU-optimized training and inference workflows.
- Track evolving agent development patterns, frameworks, harnesses, research, and commercial products.
- Use evaluations, benchmarking, instrumentation, and feedback loops to identify and address architectural gaps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Math, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in at least one of Rust, Python, Go, or Node.js, with working familiarity in at least one additional language.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming, callbacks, request lifecycles, and event-driven systems.
- Hands-on experience with agent architectures, agent frameworks, and agent harnesses.
- Proficiency in LLM applications, agent workflows, tool calls, and model-provider APIs.
- Ability to perform systems-level debugging and optimize runtime, serialization, callbacks, bindings, and event-emission hot paths.
- Strong interpersonal and open-source community collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience building agent evaluation and benchmarking systems, including metrics, regression analysis, and feedback loops.
- Preferred: Rust systems work, async Rust, Tokio, serde, API design, runtime state management, Python native extensions, PyO3, maturin, or Python/Rust bindings.
- Preferred: OpenTelemetry, tracing, structured events, exporters, observability pipelines, middleware, plugin systems, guardrails, policy engines, or request/response interception.
