Base Salary
$143k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure cryptographic services that meet FIPS and regulated-environment requirements.
- Build and operate key management, certificate lifecycle, secrets distribution, and workload identity services for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
- Apply ML and statistical techniques to detect anomalous key usage, secrets access, and certificate request patterns.
- Build near-real-time inference and detection pipelines for cryptographic misuse and compromise indicators.
- Translate security and compliance requirements into production code with product owners, security architects, and engineering teams.
- Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes, including CI/CD, on-call responsibilities, and incident response.
- Threat-model designs, conduct rigorous code reviews, and identify logic errors and cryptographic anti-patterns.
- Track cryptographic advancements, including post-quantum readiness, and apply relevant improvements.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java, Go, or an equivalent object-oriented language at production scale.
- Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance and scalability considerations.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, resource isolation, concurrency, and scaling across shared infrastructure.
- Ability to manage multiple projects involving material technical risk across teams and processes.
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes in a SaaS or multi-tenant environment.
- Working knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing, digital signatures, and PKI/TLS fundamentals.
- Experience with secure coding, code review, unit testing, and automation.
- Experience with cryptography, PKI, key management, or secrets management systems is an additional qualification.
- Applied ML/AI experience in anomaly detection, classification, or engineering workflow tooling is preferred.
- Experience building distributed backend systems with microservices and SQL or NoSQL data stores is preferred.
- Exposure to regulated environments such as FIPS 140-2/3 or FedRAMP is preferred.
