Base Salary
$160k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement guidance and navigation software within commercial off-the-shelf software frameworks.
- Lead the design of guidance software for a clean-sheet airframe design.
- Support airframe design activities.
- Support system integration of software on flight hardware.
- Contribute across CHAOS Industries’ product families as part of the Engineering organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional object-oriented software development experience.
- Experience designing and implementing guidance algorithms for UAS platforms using commercial autopilot frameworks such as ArduPilot.
- Practical understanding of fixed-wing and rotary-wing flight dynamics.
- Extensive software development experience on STM32 or similar microcontrollers and Linux hosted on Nvidia Jetson, AMD/Xilinx SoC, or Microblaze architectures.
- Experience developing real-time embedded software and hardware interfaces.
- Experience integrating vendor-provided low-level drivers and firmware.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams.
- U.S. Person status is required to access U.S.-only data systems.
- Preferred qualifications include a current or previous DoD security clearance, Part 107 remote pilot certification, EO/IR or radar sensor integration, VHDL and AMD/Xilinx FPGA development, Git, production-level software deployment, high-TRL system lifecycle development, and HW/SW integration and testing and verification.
