Responsibilities
- Break larger projects into tasks, deliver work in phases, and collaborate with teammates for timely execution.
- Design, develop, and launch backend systems that improve batch development, testing, and workload reliability.
- Collaborate with product management, design, analytics, and infrastructure engineers on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support operations, availability, keep-the-lights-on work, and on-call efforts.
- Navigate large codebases, debug code, write clear and well-tested software, conduct code reviews, and participate in interviewing and team development activities.
Requirements
- At least 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
- Proficiency in either Python or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to develop solutions spanning multiple software components and write clear, extensible, well-tested code.
- Strong debugging, code review, ownership, feedback-seeking, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
