Responsibilities
- Develop software across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.
- Own software modules end to end.
- Evaluate technologies, innovations, and outsourced development relationships against the technology roadmap and business value.
- Architect innovative solutions and anticipate technical bottlenecks.
- Review designs and project activities for compliance with development standards and provide feedback to improve product quality and reduce failure risk.
- Drive engineering best practices and operational excellence at team and organizational levels.
- Influence design decisions using domain expertise, business acumen, and experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent.
- 6+ years of experience in product development involving storage or systems engineering.
- Experience delivering V1 or early-stage products using modern object, file, or cloud storage technologies, including storage for modern AI use cases.
- Experience establishing and assuring performance requirements, work plans, and schedules for significant engineering initiatives.
- Experience with software-system design tools and languages, storage product development, software architecture, multi-platform integration, testing plans and tools, debugging, and testing scripts.
- Strong C/C++ system-programming background for large enterprise software, with proficiency in data structures, algorithms, multithreaded programming, and operating-system internals.
- Ability to debug issues in multithreaded and clustered environments.
- Preferred experience with data paths, distributed systems, clustering or high availability, memory and space management, virtualization, deduplication, replication, QoS, storage protocols, performance tuning and modeling, and large-object or multipart-upload design.
- Multiple patents or deployed software-design solutions are a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, architecture-communication, and negotiation skills.
