Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and scale core backend systems for the Lapel platform.
- Design and develop robust APIs and services supporting product features.
- Collaborate with founders, product, and design to create scalable backend solutions.
- Define and shape backend architecture, infrastructure, and tooling decisions.
- Own key backend projects from scoping to deployment and post-launch iteration.
- Design and manage database schemas, data models, and data flows.
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement best practices for security, authentication, and data protection.
- Contribute to infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Debug and resolve production issues to ensure high uptime and stability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of backend or software engineering experience with a proven track record.
- Comfortable designing APIs and working with databases.
- Experience with backend technologies like Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Customer-focused with the ability to translate product needs into backend systems.
