Base Salary

$190k - $240k/yr

Responsibilities

Build, operate, and scale Lapel’s core backend systems.
Design and develop robust APIs and services supporting product features end-to-end.
Collaborate with founders, product, and design to create scalable backend solutions.
Shape backend architecture, infrastructure, and tooling decisions.
Own backend projects from scoping through deployment and post-launch iteration.
Design and manage database schemas, data models, and cross-system data flows.
Optimize performance, reliability, scalability, security, authentication, and data protection.
Contribute to infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
Debug and resolve production issues to maintain high uptime and system stability.

At least 3 years of backend or software engineering experience building and scaling systems.
Experience designing APIs, working with databases, and making backend architecture decisions.
Experience with Node.js, Python, Go, or similar backend technologies.
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar databases.
Practical understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
Ability to translate product needs into reliable backend systems and work with high ownership and autonomy.
