Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the onboard Linux stack, including kernel tuning, PREEMPT_RT real-time patches, cgroups resource isolation, and host metric collection.
- Integrate software and hardware by ensuring deterministic communication through UDP/TCP, CAN, and serial interfaces.
- Design and maintain multi-architecture build pipelines and secure OTA updates using Docker and Ansible.
- Establish engineering practices covering hardware-in-the-loop testing, memory-safety checks, and code guidelines.
- Improve deployment safety, atomic releases, rollback capabilities, and troubleshooting tools for robots operating unsupervised in the field.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in robotics, automotive, or aerospace.
- Strong systems programming skills in modern C++ and experience with Python.
- Knowledge of Linux networking, systemd, security and hardening, and performance profiling.
- Experience with CMake, Cargo, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, or software deployment using Docker and Debian packages.
- Experience with unit-test and integration-test automation.
- Ability to contribute across multiple technical domains.
- Rust, ROS2, Zenoh, hardware-in-the-loop or simulation-in-the-loop testing, real-hardware integration, and NVIDIA Jetson experience are preferred.
