Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, maintainable data pipelines aligned with business requirements.
- Design and build web crawlers using Scrapy and Python.
- Independently own and deliver medium to large features, enhancements, and technical initiatives.
- Participate in technical design discussions, evaluate implementation alternatives, and estimate development effort.
- Implement automated testing, data quality checks, monitoring, CI/CD, automation, observability, and operational excellence practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
- Optimize application, database, and pipeline performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Review peer code and promote engineering best practices across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of professional software development experience delivering high-quality software solutions.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, with strong knowledge of data structures, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
- Experience building scalable data pipelines with Apache Spark or PySpark.
- Proficiency writing complex SQL queries involving CTEs, joins, and window functions for data transformations.
- Experience orchestrating complex workflows with Apache Airflow or Prefect.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or Snowflake.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, data platforms, and distributed systems.
- GitLab/GitHub and Git CLI experience is preferred, as is familiarity with Git-flow team workflows.
- Experience implementing web crawlers with Scrapy and Python is preferred.
- Experience implementing CI/CD for data pipelines with automated testing and data quality checks is preferred.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, independent-working, and collaboration skills.
- Healthcare domain knowledge is preferred.
