Base Salary

$185k - $224k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Crusoe Cloud's software-defined networking strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead the engineering team through architecture, design, reviews, implementation, and the full software development lifecycle.
  • Design, develop, and support Linux kernel and driver components with emphasis on system architecture and optimization.
  • Drive adoption and integration of XDP/eBPF, AF_XDP, and DPDK kernel-bypass technologies.
  • Design and leverage Mellanox/NVIDIA SmartNICs, BlueField-3 DPUs, and Intel IPUs.
  • Collaborate with network infrastructure and cross-functional teams to deploy networking solutions and deliver projects operationally.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building and operating high-performance networking systems in production.
  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, and/or Rust.
  • Deep expertise in Linux system internals, including kernel architecture, memory management, and device drivers.
  • In-depth knowledge of network programming principles, packet-processing pipelines, TCP/IP, and networking accelerators.
  • Hands-on experience with XDP/eBPF, AF_XDP, and DPDK.
  • Experience with Mellanox/NVIDIA SmartNICs, ConnectX-6/7, BlueField-3 DPUs, Intel IPU, SR-IOV, vDPA, and scalable functions.
  • Strong background in Linux kernel or embedded development.
  • Experience with Open vSwitch, OpenFlow, and Open Virtual Networking.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commitment to software engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, testing, and operations.
  • Strong open-source contributions, such as to Open vSwitch/OVS, OVN, Multus, or Cilium.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is a bonus.
  • Technical leadership experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, or KVM are bonuses.
