Base Salary
$215k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Crusoe Cloud’s Software Defined Networking roadmap.
- Lead architecture decisions, design processes, design reviews, code reviews, implementation, and software lifecycle execution.
- Lead the design, development, and support of Linux kernel and driver components.
- Drive adoption of XDP/eBPF, AF_XDP, and DPDK kernel-bypass technologies.
- Design and optimize high-performance packet-processing systems using SmartNICs, DPUs, and IPUs.
- Collaborate with network infrastructure and cross-functional teams to deploy networking solutions and deliver projects operationally.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and operating high-performance networking systems in production.
- Strong proficiency in C, C++, and/or Golang.
- Deep expertise in Linux systems internals, including kernel architecture, memory management, and device drivers.
- In-depth knowledge of network programming principles, packet-processing pipelines, TCP/IP, and networking accelerators.
- Hands-on experience with XDP/eBPF, AF_XDP, and DPDK.
- Experience with Mellanox/NVIDIA SmartNICs, ConnectX-6/7, DPU BlueField-3, or Intel IPU.
- Familiarity with SR-IOV, vDPA, scalable functions, Open vSwitch, OpenFlow, and Open Virtual Networking.
- Strong background in Linux kernel or embedded development.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and apply software engineering practices including coding standards, source control, testing, and operations.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical leadership experience, cloud networking experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, virtualization experience with VMware or KVM, and open-source contributions such as Open vSwitch/OVS, OVN, Multus, or Cilium are preferred.
