Base Salary
$200k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction across multiple services and teams with broad autonomy.
- Define AI platform patterns for agent orchestration, tooling, governance hooks, and evaluation surfaces.
- Own reliability, testing, CI/CD, and operational standards across multiple teams.
- Provide technical leadership, advise teams, and influence staffing and roadmap priorities.
- Embed with engineering teams to design and deliver complex, high-value production functionality.
- Build production systems in Python across the AI stack.
- Define engineering patterns and mentor engineers across teams.
Requirements
- Principal-level hands-on technical leadership experience setting direction across teams while writing production code.
- Deep expertise in Python and backend service development for production APIs and services.
- Experience designing and operating cloud-native, event-driven systems, preferably on AWS.
- Expertise in GenAI/LLM application engineering, including RAG, embeddings, prompting, and guardrails on managed model platforms.
- Experience with agent orchestration frameworks, MCP, and agent coordination patterns.
- Experience with relational, key-value, document, and warehouse data stores, async data access, and schema migration.
- Knowledge of application security and identity, including authentication, authorization, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing and modern developer tooling such as linting, typing, formatting, and reproducible builds.
- Comfort with Infrastructure as Code, containerization and orchestration, CI/CD and release automation, and observability and evaluation for LLM and backend systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Frontend/web UI development, data warehouse engineering, and NoSQL/document database experience are nice to have.
