Lead Software Engineer - AWS, Python, AI/ML
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Design, build, and operate AWS-native service engineering solutions for provisioning, configuration management, lifecycle orchestration, and self-service workflows.
- Develop secure, resilient automation and LLM-based agentic AI solutions integrated with cloud services and enterprise systems.
- Drive adoption of authorized AI-assisted engineering tools for code review, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
- Establish standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and validation of AI-generated outputs.
- Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
- Lead evaluations of vendors, startups, and internal technologies for architectural fit and applicability.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice and promote adoption of emerging technologies.
- Manage and mentor software engineering or AI/ML teams while remaining hands-on in production delivery.
Requirements
- Formal software engineering training or certification and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Experience building AWS-based service engineering, provisioning, and automation solutions.
- Hands-on experience delivering cloud-native infrastructure and applications using IaC-driven provisioning, CI/CD, testing, observability, and operational stability practices.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages for automation and cloud services, with advanced Java or Python skills.
- Familiarity with agentic workflows and frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and Auto-GPT.
- Experience integrating AI/ML techniques into software systems, including LLMs, Generative AI, NLP, RAG, AI evaluations, and coding assistants.
- Experience managing and mentoring software engineering or AI/ML teams as a hands-on practitioner.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn.
- Strong software engineering, system design, application development, testing, operational stability, responsible AI, data sensitivity, and secure handling knowledge.
- AWS Solution Architect Associate or Professional certification, financial services technology experience, and practical cloud-native experience are preferred.
