Responsibilities
- Prototype and build ML and agentic AI systems that improve clinical-trial design and increase the probability of trial success.
- Integrate historical trials, scientific datasets, literature, and real-world data into production systems.
- Develop transparent and actionable recommendations for scientific and clinical stakeholders.
- Build generative AI solutions using prompt engineering, context engineering, multi-agent systems, managed endpoints, and open-weight models.
- Apply scientific rigor to AI outputs and communicate complex technical work to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Share knowledge with peers, particularly across scientific and clinical domains.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience in a health or life-science field such as medicine, pharmacy, pharmacology, epidemiology, biostatistics, immunology, neuroscience, translational or clinical research, or bioinformatics.
- Familiarity with drug development, clinical-trial design, or real-world data such as EHR, claims, and prescriptions.
- Previous industry experience building applied ML or AI systems that shipped as part of a product and delivered measurable business impact.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI, prompt engineering, context engineering, multi-agent systems, managed endpoints, and open-weight models.
- Knowledge of agentic design patterns, LLMs, scientific datasets, and literature.
- Python development skills, GitHub experience, and awareness of cloud environments.
- Desirable experience with classical ML, NLP, software testing, observability, documentation, code review, secure and compliant RAG pipelines, provenance tracking, document processing, and real-world data sources.
- Desirable experience with multi-agent orchestration tools, AI coding assistants, and startup-paced environments.
