Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend systems and APIs for high-impact, real-time applications.
- Deliver production-ready code and new features in a 24/7 sports betting environment.
- Own services throughout the software development lifecycle, from design through maintenance, performance tuning, and reliability improvements.
- Triage, investigate, and resolve production issues and improve operational performance.
- Build systems that withstand high-volume and real-time demands while optimizing speed and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product leaders to align technical execution with product goals.
- Mentor peers and drive engineering quality through reviews and collaborative debugging.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant combination of education, experience, and training.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in object-oriented backend development using C# or Java.
- Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and backend system architecture.
- Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Advanced proficiency writing and maintaining automated unit, integration, and performance test suites for large-scale backend services.
- Ability to mentor and develop other engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and collaborative debugging.
