Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver high-quality, high-throughput software.
- Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable and resilient solutions for new and existing platform features.
- Help transition monolithic applications into scalable, fault-tolerant distributed architectures.
- Participate in meetings, code reviews, refactoring efforts, and technical documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and help engineering teams complete projects successfully.
- Partner with leadership to support operational success across teams.
- Improve designs, processes, products, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Support informed decision-making to maintain PCI and WCAG compliance.
Requirements
- Expert proficiency with one or more of JavaScript with Node.js, JavaScript with React, PHP, relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and NoSQL document stores.
- Experience authoring technical documentation and requirements.
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or comparable AI-assisted development tools, including evaluating and reviewing generated code.
- Experience transitioning monolithic applications into distributed architectures.
- Experience leading a group of engineers to successful project completion.
- Experience with asynchronous programming and writing unit tests.
- Expert knowledge of software design patterns, software standards, API interactions, and the software development life cycle.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Master’s degree or further education or experience in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field is a bonus.
- Strong collaboration, positive attitude, and sense of ownership.
