Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices for coding, code review, testing, release readiness, and incident or root-cause analysis.
- Establish measurable standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and validation of AI-generated outputs.
- Use software development lifecycle tooling, AI-assisted development capabilities, and automation to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
- Drive decisions affecting product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Experience delivering secure, production-quality code in Python or Java.
- Strong foundations in distributed systems, microservices, and platform architecture and design principles.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and establishing expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with little to no oversight.
- Practical cloud-native experience.
- Preferred: understanding of statistical models such as regressions and XGBoost, generative AI, agentic systems in SRE environments, Python, Spark, Airflow, cloud platforms, AWS, and relevant certifications.
